IDCOOLING IS-55
The IS-55 low profile cooler from IDCOOLING is 55mm tall and can be mounted in either orientation without affecting performance according to the manufacturer. The IS-55 comes in either white or black and provides best in class cooling performance.

FANS
The included single 120×15mm hydraulic bearing fan didn’t observe any high frequency buzzing or fan motor noise during testing. The fan reached avg 41~42dBA at 100% fan speed, 35dBA at 75% and 31.5dBA at 50% at distance of 50cm from testbench. Based on our testing the included fan is mid at best and less effective than alternatives like the Air Slimmer 120 from SilverStone.
TEST SYSTEM
Testing is carried out on the BC1 Mini (open testbench) in 20°C ambient room temperature.
THERMAL BENCHMARKS
IS-55 was tested with the stock fan at noise normalised 35db(A) and distance of 50CM.
FINAL THOUGHTS
IDCOOLING IS-55 has been designed with focus on LGA1700 & AM5. It has good build quality and a simple; effective mounting solution.
In pursuit of performance, the IS-55 has some compatibility issues with some motherboards and is also limited to 34mm of RAM clearance, this rules out mounting the cooler over the I/O shroud on majority of LGA1700 & AM5 motherboards. You may also run into compatibility issues with some cases with IS-55 installed over the ram as we did in FormD 1 in 58mm clearance mode.
The IS55 is really nothing to shout about using the included 120 slim fan... however swapping out the stock fan for the Air Slimmer 120 provided best in class cooling performance for its 55mm height class in our thermal testing.
