FormD T1 v2.1

FORMD T1 v2.1

The FormD T1 is a modular Mini-ITX case under 10L in volume. FormD T1 comes in two variants, reference and sandwich kit. Case pricing starts at US$195 for sandwich kit and is available in multiple colours. The T1 is widely considered one of the best small for factor PC case for both versatility and compatibility, while still coming in at under just 10L in volume. The case provides satisfying build experience and multiple configurations, such as air cooling, AIO and custom liquid cooling.

This guide covers the original FormD T1 2.1 (designed by 3FC). If you are looking for the T1 2.5 from NCASE, note that while they may look identical from outside, the T1 2.5 uses different internal threading and structural bars and are not cross compatible.

UNBOXING

FormD T1 v2.1 comes flat-packed box inside padded black sleeve. The flat-packed box is structured in 3 separated compartments for different parts, such as front and rear of the case, side panels, top and bottom of the case. Most things are secured nicely with their own form inset locations preventing parts scratching each other or coming lose inside the box.

BUILD #1

FormD T1 2.1 (E-White) build with vented glass side panel on CPU side. I found the vented glass to aesthetically fit well with E-White colour and did not experience any turbulence while using it with this setup.

Our most recent FormD T1 v2.1 CNC side panels were slightly too tall as seen in the first image above. This shows our old and new side panels side by side. The taller side panels causes top panel fitment and misalignment issues shown in second image. While this is easily rectified through FormD support, it's worth mentioning for others who may experience this issue and that it isn't because the top panel is bowed itself.

    BUILD #2

Build in the FormD T1 v2.1 Titanium in 3 slot mode, with RTX 5080 FE offset by 20mm. The featured 4070 CNC fan was picked up from AliEx (paid link).

This build uses custom CPU only liquid cooling loop which offers much more customisation options and flexibility than traditional AIO liquid cooler. We've adjusted some of the hardware to the most recent available.

The DDC pump was set to 1800RPM as these have a tendency to produce a high-pitched whine at higher RPM’s. The pump is powered and controlled by an Aquacomputer Quadro. Radiator fans were set to fixed/max speed of 50%. We installed two DIY power buttons + FormD case handle at the rear and USB-C at the front of the case.

            FINAL THOUGHTS

FormD T1 may go down in history as one of the most beloved Mini-ITX cases...
